Never send passwords, verification tokens or sensitive financial information by email. Your vaulted document text is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM — Nanivolt staff cannot read your document contents.
The uploaded file may not be identical to the original vaulted file. Even small edits, conversions or certain compression methods can change the cryptographic fingerprint.
No. Nanivolt verifies file integrity. It is not a cloud backup service.
For image files, Nanivolt will flag the SHA-256 as changed (because the file was modified) but will also show a visual similarity score using perceptual fingerprinting (pHash). This tells you whether the image content looks the same even if the file was compressed or re-exported.
For non-image files, only the exact original file that was vaulted will pass SHA-256 verification. Any edit, conversion or compression will cause verification to fail.
Our goal is to make digital trust simple, secure and reliable.
