1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Nanivolt, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the platform.

2. Our Service

Nanivolt allows users to:

• Vault digital files.
• Generate cryptographic fingerprints.
• Create verification records.
• Verify whether files remain identical to their original vaulted versions.
• Detect exactly what changed — Nanivolt's Text Diff Engine highlights every modified word and identifies which page was altered for PDF, DOCX, and TXT files.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account.
• Protecting your password.
• Keeping your login credentials confidential.
• All activity that occurs under your account.

4. File Ownership

You retain full ownership of every file you vault. Nanivolt does not claim ownership of your documents, images, videos or any uploaded content.

5. Document Text Processing & Encryption

When vaulting supported document types (PDF, DOCX, TXT), Nanivolt extracts text from your file in the browser, then transmits it securely over HTTPS to Nanivolt's server where it is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being stored.

• Extracted text is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM — a military-grade symmetric encryption standard.
• Encryption keys are derived server-side from your user ID and a secure server secret — they never leave the server.
• Even if the database were compromised, your document contents would be unreadable ciphertext.
• Nanivolt does not read, share, or use your document contents for any purpose other than providing you with analysis metadata.
• You may vault files containing personal or sensitive information with confidence that the content is encrypted and private.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Nanivolt to:

• Upload illegal content.
• Violate copyright laws.
• Impersonate another person.
• Attempt to compromise platform security.
• Distribute malware or harmful software.
• Abuse verification services.

7. Integrity Verification

Nanivolt determines whether two files are cryptographically identical. Verification does not guarantee that a document is:

• Legally valid.
• Factually accurate.
• Authentic in origin.
• Approved by any institution.

A successful verification simply means the submitted file matches the original vaulted file.

8. User Responsibilities

To ensure accurate verification, users must:

• Vault the original file.
• Preserve the original file.
• Share the original vaulted file.
• Verify the exact same file.
• Avoid editing the file after vaulting.
• Avoid converting the file into another format before verification.
• Avoid verifying altered copies.

9. Subscription & Credits

Nanivolt offers both Free and Premium plans. Free accounts receive a limited number of Vault and Verify credits. Premium subscriptions provide additional features and higher usage limits.

Unused credits may expire or reset according to your subscription plan. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

10. Availability of Service

While we strive to provide continuous access to Nanivolt, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, software updates, internet outages, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our control may temporarily affect availability.

11. Limitation of Liability

Nanivolt is provided on an "as available" basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nanivolt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or financial damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform.

Users remain responsible for maintaining backups of their files and ensuring that important documents are stored safely.

12. Intellectual Property

The Nanivolt name, branding, logos, software, interface, design, source code, graphics and related materials are the intellectual property of Nanivolt unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, redistribute or exploit any part of the platform without prior written permission.

13. Account Suspension

Nanivolt reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or attempt to abuse the platform.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

• Attempting to compromise platform security.
• Using Nanivolt for unlawful activities.
• Attempting to manipulate verification results.
• Creating fraudulent accounts.
• Abusing free credits or automated systems.

14. Security Warning

For the most accurate verification results, users must always preserve the original vaulted file.

Even very small changes—including metadata changes, compression, file conversions, or editing—may change the file's cryptographic fingerprint and cause verification to fail or indicate that the file has been altered.

Always verify the exact original file that was vaulted and always send that same original file to customers, clients, institutions, or other recipients.

15. Changes to These Terms

Nanivolt may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated versions will be published on this page. Your continued use of Nanivolt after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
